Great opportunity for an Anatomical Pathologist to join this hospital located on the sunny north coast of NSW.

The successful candidate will provide Pathologist supervision to the laboratory as well operational service to the Anatomical Pathology section of the laboratory.

Role Responsibilites:
    * To assist in the supervision of the operation of anatomical pathology and cytology sections of the service
    * Examine and report on surgical pathology specimens
    * Examine and report on cytology specimens
    * Perform and report on FNA examinations
    * Perform and report on frozen sections
    * Perform and report on autopsies
    * Perform bone marrow aspirate and trephine procedures but not necessarily report on such
    * Provide Consultant service in areas of anatomical pathology and cytology to hospital staff and Visiting Medical Officers
    * Participate in out-of-hours on-call roster and provide general pathologist consultant service out-of-hours
    * Participate in provision of above duties to peripheral hospitals within the North Coast Area Health Service. (The main duties being to the Tweed Laboratory)
    * Participate in QA and TOM activities
    * Participate in performance appraisal of technical and other staff
    * Participate in ongoing personal educational activities to maintain and develop skills
    * Participate in all safety activities including fire drills
    * Other duties as directed on accordance with Medical Officers Specialists (State) Award

Applicants must hold a medical degree that is registrable with the NSW Medical Board and have experience in Histopathology.
